Tiana hits MTV Africa’s Top 10 charts with ‘Dem a Bawl’

The ‘Princess of Dancehall,’ Tiana continues to accumulate success on her path towards international superstardom as she’s earned recognition in the Motherland for her musical exploits.

Having infiltrated the airwaves this past summer with a number of hits including,Watch Dem a Watch Me, One Stuck Whineand Don’t Stop, Tiana has copped a top 10 slot on MTV Base Africa Top 10 Dancehall chart with another smash, Dem a Bawl. This marks the first time that Tiana has earned a top 10 spot on any MTV music chart as Dem a Bawl place 10th on MTV Africa’s chart this week.

Dem a Bawl, produced on the Aurora Skies Riddim (Sounique Records) became one of the summer’s top anthems for her female fans as the accompanying music video for the track has garnered over 100,000 views onYouTube as well as wickedhype.com since its release two months ago, featuring cameos from a plethora of Dancehall stalwarts including Konshens, Gyptian, Elephant Man, ZJ Liquid, Demarco, Flexxx and Delus, amongst others.

Now with an MTV Top 10 spot to boast, Tiana’s international reputation has only been enhanced. Additionally, it continues her strong relationship with her African fan base and industry players alike, including a collaboration in the summer of 2011 with Gambian recording artiste, G-Faal.

Tiana will look to build off the strong momentum she gained this summer, which included a pair of IRAWMA nominations as well opening for and performing alongside prominentGaza artiste, Tommy Lee during Rum Bar Temptation Isle (RTI) Marco Polo in Negril … Sophisticated Beach Party in Ocho Rios … Bikini Hollister in Falmouth Trelawny and most recently Shook once again alongside Tommy Lee in Montego Bay.

Furthermore, the Dancehall Duchess released her debut mixtape, Real Bad Gyal in August, featuring a number of elite acts such as Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, Mr. Vegas, Konshens and the aforementioned Tommy Lee.

Additionally, the single is currently climbing several charts, such as being sixth on TVJ’s Video Alley (Suzie Q), seventh on MTV Tempo’s Pree Dis Top Ten Chart …12th on Richie B’s Top 25 Dancehall Chart … 13th on Hype TV Dancehall Chart … 15th on the OutAroad Top 20 Hot Singles Chart (MDTV) and, most notably, second on Stampede’s Street Chart while also maintaining its position on the CVM Hitlist countdown.
