Beenie and D'Angel record song, You are My First and Reconcile!
Mi just hear the new song wid D'Angel and Beenie Man, and it sound mad. It look like a sure number one fi the husband and wife team, their first collabo since One Man in 2006. Pon the song called You Are My First, D'Angel call up Barbee name, boasting that "no other gyal can ove you like me, then asking Beenie Man so tell me wah yu a do wid Barbee? Beenie's response: Ah music ting. And then she hisses her teeth.
In the intro, she even makes reference to how Beenie treated her when the relationship ended up on the rocks, and nasty headlines exploded in newspapers. She croons that the experience made her stronger. Using a deeper-sounding delivery, D'Angel goes hard, deejaying "some gyal dem a crosses, and fi that, yu no need no test glasses". While I am not sure that all those references are for Barbee, the song feels like certain redemption for D'Angel. But is this a slight of Barbee? Or just two old lovers and friends having fun and courting controversy?
